2/17: He Schutz, he scores

In the DEL this evening, Ingolstadt center Felix Schutz erupted for a pair of goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Duisburg. In forty games in 2007-08, the German center has collected 11 goals and 23 total points. The three-point finish was the first multi-point game for the 2006 pick since a two goal, two assist outing against Philip Gogulla's Kolner Haie back on October 26th. Defenseman Drew Schiestel picked up an assist and was +3 as Niagara trounced visiting Barrie, 7-1, in front of a sellout crowd in St. Catherines. For his work, Schiestel how has a solid 28 points in 56 games (.5 ppg), with an elevated +10 rating. Thanks to the win, a Kingston loss to Oshawa later tonight will clinch a playoff birth for the IceDogs. Results are still pending for two QMJHL contests featuring Benjamin Breault and Paul Byron. Stop back for those updates, as well a recap of tonight's Amerks-Bulldogs matchup from Blue Cross Arena.
