No go for Breault

The Buffalo Sabres have informed 2006 7th round pick Benjamin Breault, 20, that he is not in their future plans. Without an offer from Buffalo, the Pembroke, Ontario native will likely return to the QMJHL next season where he has has scored 106 goals over the past three seasons with Baie-Comeau. Chosen 207th overall two years ago, the 5'11 center will re-enter the draft three weeks from now.

Really too bad for Benny, I liked what I saw from him. However, not making marked improvements in his scoring totals from last year to this, even with a slightly weaker supporting cast didn't help his cause.

What's the chances he catches on somewhere down the line? THink he will get re-drafted or will he just have to schlep it through the minors to get a shot? Breault seems like he has the tools to be a role player on a team if the 'new NHL' continues to call obstruction, interference.

I always thought he'd get a crack as a borderline AHLer, but honestly gaf, he may be best served going to Europe in a few years.
