Persson begins time with Timra

2006 first-round pick Dennis Persson (2 SOG) collected 13:30 of ice time this evening as Timra needed overtime to move past Frolunda, 3-2. With the game tied 1-1, the 6'1 Persson was whistled for a hooking minor on Magnus Kahn. Frolunda would score on the ensuing power play for a 2-1 lead. Old friend Mikko Lehtonen's blueline laser ended things just under five minutes into the extra session as the Eagles rolled off their second straight win to start the year. Timra opened the season last Thursday with an exciting 6-5 win over . Like tonight's contest, Persson skated on the Eagles third pair (11:27), contributing one shot on goal. The Eagles will leave the friendly ice of E.ON Arena for a Saturday contest at Linkoping.
