11/2 Recap: Gogulla scores on way to recess

Philip Gogulla connected for a power play goal as red-hot Cologne defeated Wolfsburg, 4-1. The 6'2 wing has points in five of his last six games, while the win gives the Sharks four in their last five heading into the DEL's ten-day break. In the QMJHL, Jacob Lagacé scored his seventh goal of the season in Chicoutimi's 4-1 win over Victoriaville. The Sags victory comes in Richard Martel's 1,000th game behind a QMJHL bench. Lagacé now has 15 points in as many games. Paul Byron (-1) assisted on a Jan Stransky power play goal as Gatineau fell to Halifax, 4-2. The loss was the tenth straight for the Piques, leaving the proud organization on the verge of a shake-up. Also from the Q, Jordon Southorn was +1 as PEI defeated Lewiston, 3-1. In OHL action, Nick Crawford (+2) had an assist as Saginaw finished the weekend with a 3-2 defeat of Kitchener in overtime. The win moves the team's record to 10-6-0-0 for the season. Out west, Tyler Ennis assisted on the lone Tigers goal as Medicine Hat lost to Calgary, 2-1. The point gives Ennis nine in his past six games for a total of 15 on the season. Kelowna's Tyler Myers also posted an assist as the Rockets defeated the Oil Kings, 5-2. In the NCAA, Drew MacKenzie (1 SOG) was even in #14 Vermont's 3-2 OT win over Dartmouth.
