11/9 Recap: Southorn has productive shift; Lagacé cranking

Jordon Southorn (+2) had two assists in :39 as PEI hammered Rouyn-Noranda, 8-2. Well, they hammered them on the scoreboard anyways, as the Rocket only needed 18 shots to score their eight goals. Southorn, who fired two of those shots, supplied the pass for a nice two-on-one goal by Matthew Lachaine as part of his second period roll. Jacob Lagacé scored a power play goal as Chicoutimi defeated Baie-Comeau, 4-3. Tied at two in the third period, Lagacé's tenth of the season was the first of two markers in a 1:16 span as the Sags closed the door on the Drakkar. Lagacé how has goals in his last five games, and will ride an eight-game point streak into Friday's match-up with Cape Breton. Jean-Simon Allard was -1 in the Remparts 3-1 loss to the Cataractes. Allard's play continues to be "up and down" for Quebec. Meanwhile, the Shawinigan victory is their 12th straight, and they look like a team that could make a call on Gatineau's Paul Byron when the QMJHL Christmas Holidays trade window opens from December 20th to January 8th. In a Sunday NCAA battle, Andrew Orpik posted zeros for #2 Boston College in their 2-1 loss to Maine. The loss was the seond in a row for the defending champs after a Friday defeat at the hands of Notre Dame.
