12/7 Recap: Trio contributes with mixed results

In the OHL, Nick Crawford (-1) posted three primary assists on the power play as Saginaw dumped Sault Ste. Marie, 6-3. The third-star effort gives the Caledon, Ontario native six multi-point games this season through the first 26 outings, while his 20 total points have already equaled his 2007-08 output (68 games). 2009 eligible Michael Fine had a goal and an assist for the Greyhounds in the loss, while highly rated netminder Edward Pasquale of Saginaw made 22 saves for his 18th win of the season. Jacob Lagacé posted two first period goals for Chicoutimi in their 5-3 loss to Val-d'Or. Looking for their third win in as many nights, the Sags top line of Lagacé, Nicolas Deschamps (ANA), and Joel Champagne (TOR) was clicking early, but fell victim to four unanswered goals from the Foreurs in the final 7:32 of play. Maxime Sauvé (BOS) had a goal and two helpers to lead Val-d'Or. Also from the Q, Jordon Southorn had a goal and an assist as PEI got pounded by Drummondville, 8-3. The 6'2 defenseman has picked up his play in recent weeks for a Rocket club that has now lost six straight games. On the other side, the Volts victory was their 13th in a row. Luke Adam (-2) and T.J. Brennan (-3, 6 PIM) both failed to hit the sheet as struggling Montreal dropped their third straight game, 5-2 at Shawinigan. Both Juniors prospects are a cumulative -5 over the past three, with the former going pointless while seeing more shifts at center away from the top-line combo of Angelo Esposito (ATL) and Nick Layton.
