1/13-15 Recap: A week of assists

Time for a little catch-up on a relatively light week before the Friday action hits. I’ll be posting reaction from the CHL Top Prospects Game later this weekend as SabresProspects gets ready to open its 2009 Draft coverage, all the while putting the final touches on the winter prospect rankings. Stay tuned. In the OHL, Drew Schiestel assisted on the lone Niagara goal as the Dogs defeated Mississauga, 2-1. The power play helper ups the 6’2 defenseman’s point total to 36 in 39 games this season. Nick Crawford had an assist and finished +3 as Saginaw cruised to a 5-2 win at Peterborough. On Wednesday, Tyler Myers had an assist as Kelowna rode a three-goal third to a 3-2 win over Tri-City. Coming on the power play, the assist was his 21st point of the year. On Tuesday, Tyler Ennis (+1) had an assist as Medicine Hat was stifled by Vancouver, 6-2. Ennis set-up Colton Grant's shorthanded goal to open scoring at 14:15 of the first period. Dennis Persson has missed two SEL games this week due to illness.
