From Sabres.com:
The Buffalo Sabres announced today they will be holding a summer development camp from July 6-10 at Dwyer Arena on the campus of Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y.
There will be on-ice sessions open to the public from Tuesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. each day, and on Friday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Below is the full camp roster. An participant missing from the list is goaltender Brad Eidsness of North Dakota, who ironically was replaced by the keeper he inherited the Sioux gig from, J.P. Lamoureux (Alaska - ECHL). Andrew Orpik who just completed his senior year at Boston College will also not attend.
Other notables include edgy LW Igor Gongalskyi (Fresno/Stockton - ECHL), a former junior mate of Andrej Sekera in Owen Sound, and big forward Brayden Irwin (University of Vermont), a teammate of 2007 pick Drew MacKenzie and repeat invitee after a decent showing last summer.
Also, 2008 draftees out of the WCHA, Corey Fienhage (North Dakota) and Justin Jokinen (Minnesota State), will be participating in their first Sabres sanctioned activities after not attending last year's camp.

Any idea why Eidsness is not attending?
I guess no money in the bank for Eids.
JP Lamoreaux, I thought he signed with the devils? Is he available? I have always been a fan of this kid. He's undersized at 5-8 but a very good positional goalie who played fantastic at ND.

Lamoureux was in the Blues organization last season on a one year deal. Goalie of the Year in the coast league. He'll be 25 in the fall, and an excellent candidate for a deal in Portland.
Lamoureux would be the perfect backup for Enroth next year. Jhonas could see 60 games or so with JP getting 20-25. Loved him at ND and he has good ability. Wish he was 3-5 inches taller.

I'm really interested how Fienhage looks out there. I know he didn't get a lot of ice time in his freshman year, but I've gotta think that even just going to practice with such a good squad helped him out.
Been watching the IceDogs for 2 years now. While Schiestel is odds-on to be a good pro,DeSousa is a very good pickup.Consistent, feisty,a good team leader(on and off ice)plays bigger than 5'9.Simply does what has to be done -whatever it takes.Probably a better centre than winger, but the Dogs have had a shortage of jam on the boards, and an excess of small centres. It might take Chris a little longer to get there, but a definite positive addition to the Sabres" organization
Thing is, DeSousa is only a camp invitee --- they can not sign him since he's still draft eligible.
Should have said"he'd make a positive addition..." Hopefully, the fact that the Sabres gave Chris this invite will stand them in good stead when the time comes. He should put up some good numbers in 09-10
Will they be scrimmaging at the camp or just doing drills?
Thanks!
Kris,
I'd love to get your take on what you saw up therer....
