Kassian, Lagacé eye return

Injured Sabres prospects Zack Kassian and Jacob Lagacé appear set for a return to their junior lineups when their teams hit the ice later this week.

Kassian, who was recently named to Team OHL for next month's Subway Super Series against the Russian Selects, has been out since October 2nd when he suffered a separated shoulder against the Soo Greyhounds. The 6'3 banger has been skating for the past week, and is likely to return to his captain's duties on either Thursday against Oshawa or Friday at Mississauga. Kassian had scored three goals and eight points through his first seven games before getting hurt.

Lagacé, who was leveled with his head down last Friday by Quebec's Danick Paquette, was held out of Chicoutimi's game with Rimouski on Sunday due to lingering consussion-like symptoms. Doctors have not ruled it a concussion however, making a Thursday return a real possibility for the Sags leading scorer.

How can a player that has been out from an injury be selected to the SS team. Its amazing how they pick this team on draft status only.

Team Canada also uses the SS as a gauge for helping form their World Junior camp roster. I don't see too much of an issue with Kassian playing in the event.

I wish I could watch the subway series, since it will be important to Kassian's hopes to make the canadian juniors. Will there be links available?
