11/24 Recap: Misfiring Marcus mired in months of misery

Marcus Foligno was even with a roughing minor on Tuesday as Sudbury lost to Sault Ste. Marie, 3-2 in OT. The defeat marked the 22nd straight game without a goal for the 6'3 grinder, a stretch dating back two months to September 26th. Granted the Sabres drafted hard-working bloodlines and not offesnive prowess when selecting Foligno, but the current drought dwarfs previous dry spells of 11 and 13 games in his 17-year old season, and will continue to be a lingering concern until things start translating to the scoresheet.

Elsewhere, Alex Biega was +1 with an assist on Tuesday as Harvard fell to Boston University in overtime, 6-5. In the third period, Biega fed a long outlet pass to Connor Morrison who proceded to bury his third of four goals on the evening to put the Crismon ahead 4-3 at the time. The senior captain has points in three of his last four games. Harvard will host Dartmouth on Sunday.

In Hockey East, Drew MacKenzie finished -1 as #18 Vermont dropped to 4-5-1 on the year with a 6-2 loss to #9 Massachusetts. James Marcou had five assists and Casey Wellman netted a hat trick for the Minutemen, while David Pacan scored his first career goal for the losing Catamounts. Vermont will travel to Northeastern on Friday.
