Sabres 'Fab Four' makes Canadian Selection Camp roster

Congrats to OHL forwards Zack Kassian (WSR) and Marcus Foligno (SBY), and WHL defensemen Brayden McNabb (KTN) and Mark Pysyk (EDM) for being named to Hockey Canada's U20 Selection Camp roster.

The quartet will leave their teams late next week to skate at Team Canada's Selection Camp being held December 12-15 at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto. The 2011 World Junior Championships will be held in Buffalo beginning December 26.

Please read my post from yesterday detailing why I felt each player was deserving of an invite.

More details to come, but this should be taken as great news to Sabres fans.

What do you think Kris, if you had to speculate how many of the Sabres prospects make it- if any? 2 Kassian and Pysyk- thanks Gaf/

gaf - It looks like Canada is looking for swift skating D, so that certainly helps Pysyk. I still think McNabb would have an upper hand heading in with a well-rounded game and the extra year of development. That could be enough to make it at least as the spare. The thing that is starting to even things out between Pysyk and McNabb is that the invitation has really seemed to spark Pysyk. He's looking more assertive as required and contributing more offense.

I think Kassian is on the team.

Foligno will probably play wing in camp. Lower line underdog. I honestly think he has a shot if he keeps it simple and executes. Coaches love what he brings. Guys like that are ultimate wildcards.
