2/24 Recap: Shipley looking to get on track

Steven Shipley earned a power play assist to extend his point streak to four games Thursday as Niagara doubled Erie, 6-3. After being a point-per-game player through his first 15 starts (5+10), the 6'3 forward has gone on to produce a total of 39 points in 54 games (.72 pts/gm). Last season through 54 games, Shipley produced at slightly over a point-per-game clip by amassing 21 goals and 55 points. Entering the year I spoke of an upped compete level as the key to Shipley's growth moving forward. Taking hits to make plays...playing with more passion. We need to see it more, but for now the move back to center has helped his game come around.

Elsewhere, Zack Kassian posted an assist as Windsor downed Ottawa, 4-1. The big wing, who moved to the left side on a line with Taylor Carnavale and Jake Carrick, has 24 goals and 70 points in 47 games this season.
