10/26 Recap: Pysyk ties career best

Mark Pysyk tied a career high with three assists Wednesday as Edmonton got past Everett, 4-1. The OKs captain has eight assists in 14 games this season (his "first" goal of the year two weeks ago was later credited to another player). Last year, his first goal didn't come until December 3rd (game #23). Edmonton travels to Regina on Friday.

Nathan Lieuwen made 29 saves for his third straight win as Kootenay edged Red Deer, 3-2. The 6'5 netminder moves to 8-2-0-2 through his first dozen starts while leading the WHL with a 1.48 goals against average and .946 save percentage.

Gregg Sutch scored his second goal of the year as Barrie lost to Belleville, 5-3. Sutch's even strength tally was set-up by Mark Scheifele, who was playing his first game back in the OHL after a seven-game stint with the Winnipeg Jets. Alex Lepkowski missed his seventh straight game due to an upper body injury. The Colts are off until Saturday's tilt with Windsor.

Kevin Sundher was even with a roughing minor as Victoria got spanked by Spokane, 6-1. The Royals host Seattle on Friday.

Steven Shipley missed his third straight game with a concussion as Niagara defeated Erie, 6-4. The IceDogs have won all three games they've played without Shipley, who was said to have suffered a minor setback that will likely keep him out until next week.
