Sutch enjoying new digs

The Barrie Examiner recently caught up with Colts forward Gregg Sutch, who is enjoying a change in scenery after a late summer trade that sent him north from Mississauga to Barrie.

A grinding forward who can produce moderate offensive numbers down low, Sutch is an affable player who could earn a contract by continuing to embrace the blue-collar role that he's likely to fill at the professional level.

Coming over to the Colts this year, Sutch is part of a different philosophy, one that he has enjoyed so far.

"I'm loving every moment of it," Sutch said. "It's been a great change for me, with good teammates and a great coaching staff. It's been a great experience so far and I'm looking forward to the long haul."

His talents have been appreciated in Barrie thus far.

"He's a big, strong, physical kid, who's a great team guy and understands the concept of thinking of the crest on the front first, and that'll take care of what's on the back," said Colts head coach Dale Hawerchuk.

"(Gregg) can bring a lot of good things, just understanding what it takes to win and the sacrifices you make."
