11/22 Recap: Armia warming up

Joel Armia scored his fourth goal of the year Tuesday as Assat battled to a 3-2 win over the Pelicans. The 6'3 wing's improved play of late was rewarded with 14:03 of work, the most time he's earned in the last month and a half. Armia, who has pointed in three of his last four games (2G, 1A), has four goals and six assists in 23 outings this year for the second-place Aces. Assat will host Ilves on Friday.

Drew MacKenzie picked up an assist on the game winning goal as Vermont earned their first Hockey East victory with a 2-1 win over Massachusetts. The two-way senior now has four points in six November games. The Catamounts (2-7-2) will remain at home for a pair of post-Thanksgiving tilts versus #15 Colgate on Black Friday and Dartmouth on Saturday.

In the WHL, Nathan Lieuwen was given a night off as Kootenay handled lowly Prince George, 3-2 . The ICE will roll their rested netminder Wednesday when they travel to Kamloops.
