Amerks lose; Boychuk scraps in Coast League debut

Big Joe Finley scored his first goal as an Amerk Friday, but Rochester saw their four-game winning streak halted in a 2-1 loss to Toronto. With the game knotted 1-1 in the final frame, the Amerks allowed a shorthanded goal with 2:28 left to slip to 8-6-2-1 on the year.

From Kevin O.'s Rochester D&C Recap:

The tie will be broken today when the teams play again, this time in Toronto at 3 p.m.

"We have to get it back and cancel this out and save the weekend," said defenseman Joe Finley, who scored the Amerks goal 6:38 into the first period.

The Amerks thought they were in great position to win the game as they headed to a power play with only 3:25 to play.

Instead, the Marlies penalty killers pressured the Amerks into a turnover, and from the giveaway came D'Amigo's goal, his third of the season.
