Armia powers Aces to victory

Joel Armia scored his 15th goal of the year Saturday and added an assist as Assat cruised to a 5-1 win over Lukko.

The most recent Sabres first-rounder from Finland scored what proved to be the game winner at 8:15 of the opening period by going roof over a former Sabres first rounder from Finland, Mika Noronen. Minutes later he'd use his big body to add an assist as the Aces took a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.

Armia (+2, 5 SOG) finished the game with 17:08 of work, earning well above his average of 13:50 for a third straight game. He has amassed 31 points through 44 games, including 20 (10+10) in his last 18.

Assat begins the final 10-game block of the regular season on Tuesday when they visit TPS.
