4/25 Recap: Trio blanked as series play on

Written By Kris Baker on Friday, April 27, 2012 | 4/27/2012

Jerome Gauthier-Leduc (+1) fired five shots on goal Wednesday but was unable to light the lamp as Rimouski was defeated by Halifax 3-1 in game #4 of their QMJHL semifinal. The series is deadlocked at two games each with game #5 coming Friday in Rimouski.

Mark Pysyk was even as Edmonton saw their 22-game winning streak end with a 5-1 loss at Moose Jaw. The Oil Kings, who remain in control of the Eastern Conference final with 3-1 lead, will get another crack at advancing to the WHL Championship Friday in Edmonton. The winner will play the Portland Winterhawks.

Steven Shipley was left off the scoresheet as Niagara skated to a 5-2 win over Ottawa. Leading the OHL Eastern Conference final by a 3-1 count, the IceDogs will look to close out the 67's Friday in St. Catharines. The London Knights await the series winner.

7-0 for Rimouski so far. Leduc scored a nice power play goal for the 7th goal....though to be honest the Halifax d has been pretty porous. That's really stating the obvious.
