10/18 Recap: Nelson helps in win

Logan Nelson recorded an assist Thursday as Victoria skated to a 3-1 win over Calgary. A Hitmen panalty was expiring just as Nelson unleashed a wrist shot that was tipped over Chris Driedger's blocker late in period two. Nelson has points in nine of the Royals' 12 games this season (3+10). Victoria gets the weekend off before resuming play Tuesday versus Brandon.


Colin Jacobs finished -1 as Prince George was shutout by Kelowna 3-0. Jacobs, who registered a point in each of the Cougars' first eight games, has gone three straight without getting on the scoresheet.

In the OHL, Alex Lepkowski logged a +1 rating as Barrie earned their eighth straight victory 7-3 over Ottawa. The Colts, went an impressive five of eight on the power play, host London on Saturday.
