11/14 Recap: Makarov shines for Russia; Grigo scores again

Andrey Makarov was superb Wednesday stopping all 35 shots faced in regulation as Team Russia dropped a 1-0 shootout decision to Team WHL in Game Five of the Subway Super Series. Makarov made several big stops early en route to backstopping the Russians through three intense periods. The teams will head to Victoria for Thursday's series finale.



Mikhail Grigorenko scored his 17th goal of the year as Quebec lost at Rimouski 5-4. Grigorenko, who finished 48% (13/27) at the faceoff circle, has now notched points in 18 of his first 19 appearances this year.



In the OHL, Justin Kea scored a goal and an added assist as Saginaw outlasted Plymouth 8-7. Kea's momentum changing goal, his fifth of the year, tied the game 6-6 at the second intermission.



Brady Austin finished with an even rating as Belleville knocked off Guelph 2-1 in the shootout.

In the AHL, Brian Flynn extended his point streak to five game with a goal and an assist while Jerome Gauthier-Leduc scored in his professional debut as Rochester won a school day game at Hamilton 4-1. Nick Tarnasky and T.J. Brennan added the other Amerks tallies. David Leggio earned the start, stopping 26 of 27 shots for his eighth win of the year.

The Amerks return to action Friday when they host Abbotsford.
