11/24 Recap: McCabe produces

Jake McCabe scored a power play goal Saturday and added an assist but Wisconsin was dealt a 4-2 defeat by Minnesota State. McCabe, who earned the helper when his point shot was tipped by Michael Mersch 49 seconds into the second period, has gathered two goals and six points through the Badgers' first 10 games. Fellow sophomore Brad Navin completed the weekend without registering a point.

In the WHL, Logan Nelson recorded two assists to help Victoria to a 3-2 win over Prince George. Nelson will carry a six-game point streak into Tuesday's tilt versus Moose Jaw. Colin Jacobs did not factor into the scoring for the Cougars, who return to action next weekend for another pair of games against Nelson and the Royals.



Andrey Makarov allowed four goals on 10 shots before getting pulled halfway through the first period of play as Saskatoon got throttled by Kelowna 9-2. The Blades return home Tuesday to face Lethbridge.

In SuperElit league play, Linus Ullmark made 28 saves as MODO J20 earned a 5-2 win over Timra. MODO is off until next Sunday when they take on Lulea.

In the OHL, Dan Catenacci was a minus-two as Owen Sound saw their streak of three straight shutouts end with a 3-0 loss to London. The Attack will look to startr a new streak Sunday at Mississauga.

Justin Kea did not score but was whistled for a goaltender interference penalty in Saginaw's 2-1 loss to Kingston. Kea and the Spirit are off until Friday's meeting with Sarnia.

Alex Lepkowski finished with a plus-one rating as Barrie defeated Sault Ste. Marie 5-3. Barrie travels to Windsor in Thursday.

In the USHL, Judd Peterson scored his fourth goal of the year in Cedar Rapids' 7-3 loss to Waterloo. Peterson's down-low effort gives him 10 points through 13 USHL contests.

Christian Isackson punched one shot on goal as Minnesota earned the non-conference sweep with a 3-1 win at Vermont. The Gophers will take a six-game winning streak into next weekend's WCHA set with Nebraska-Omaha.

Mark Adams remained out of the lineup as Providence smoked Brown 7-0 to earn the Mayor's Cup. The Friars return to work next weekend for a home-and-home series with Merrimack.
