12/11 Recap: Cat competes; Amerks cool Heat

Dan Catenacci skated down the wing Tuesday but was unable to score as Team White was defeated by Team Red 3-1 in the first intrasquad contest of Canada's 2013 National Junior Team Selection Camp. Catenacci, who missed his best chance of the night in the opening period when he was stopped by Owen Sound teammate Jordan Binnington, was part of a line rotation that included Boone Jenner, Brett Ritchie, Hunter Shinkaruk, Ty Rattie, and Charles Hudon. Camp actions continues Wednesday at 1:30 MT versus a Canadian University squad.

Logan Nelson notched his 30th point of the year, an assist, as Victoria defeated Seattle 6-2. The 6-foot-1 centerman has notched points in 12 of his last 15 games. The Royals travel to Red Deer on Friday.

In the AHL, T.J. Brennan scored the only goal of the shootout and David Leggio stopped all six shooters after making 29 stops over 65 minutes as Rochester edged AHL frontrunner Abbottsford 3-2. Luke Adam and Frederick Roy scored in regulation for the Amerks, who visit Cleveland on Thursday for a date with the Lake Erie Monsters.
