12/15 Recap: Kea pots winner; Jacobs fuels Cougars

Justin Kea (+2) scored the game winning goal Saturday and added an assist as Saginaw doubled Windsor 6-3. Kea, who posted a total of seven goals and a minus-nine rating through his first two OHL seasons, enters the holiday break with 11 tallies and a solid plus-10 rating in the year's first 35 contests. Saginaw returns to action December 27 at Plymouth.

Dan Catenacci put his 19th goal of the year into an empty net as Owen Sound skated to a 4-1 win over Brampton. Catenacci enters the break as the Attack's leading point man with 19 goals and 47 points through 34 games. The Attack is off until December 28 when they take on Erie.

Brady Austin earned an assist as Belleville was defeated 3-1 by Mississauga. Austin heads into the Christmas break with seven points (2+5) in his last nine games. The Bulls are off until December 28 when they visit Guelph.

Alex Lepkowski earned a plus-one rating but left the game with a shoulder injury as Barrie pitched a 2-0 shutout of Plymouth. The Colts tangle with Peterborough on Sunday before enjoying a 12-day break for Christmas.

In the USHL, Judd Peterson scored his fifth goal of the year as Cedar Rapids earned a 3-2 shootout victory over Team USA. The Riders go back at it Friday in Fargo.

In WHL action, Colin Jacobs wasted no time getting back on the score sheet, getting credited with a goal just 14 seconds into the first period following his return from a six-game suspension as Prince George blanked Vancouver 6-0. Jacobs, who also added two assists, will look to maintain the production when the two clubs play a Sunday rematch before entering the break.

Logan Nelson finished with a minus-one rating as Victoria capped their pre-holiday road trip with a 5-2 loss at Edmonton. Nelson enters the break ranked second in team scoring with 31 points (8+23) after 33 games. The Royals will next meet up with Jacobs' Cougars on December 28.

In AHL action, Mark Pysyk posted a goal and an assist for his first multi-point night as a pro as Rochester dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to Toronto. Luke Adam extended his point streak to five games with a goal in his fourth straight, while Marcus Foligno added the other Amerks mark. Zemgus Girgensons earned an assist on the Foligno strike for his fifth career point (1+4).

David Leggio made 24 saves to move to 11-8-0-1 on the year. Cody Hodgson returned to the Rochester lineup for the first time since November 2. Next up for Rochester is a Wednesday visit to Grand Rapids.
