12/9 Recap: Makarov departs in style

Andrey Makarov heads off to join Team Russia on a high note following a 22-save performance Sunday in Saskatoon’s 7-0 shutout of Regina. The blanking comes on the heels of Saturday's 9-0 trouncing of the very same Pats club in which he stopped alll 15 shots throw at him. The 6-foot-1 netminder has four wins in his last six starts, including three shutouts in his last five, to elevate his record to 15-13-0-1 with a 2.84 GAA and .908 save%. Makarov will join Mikhail Grigorenko in Russia this week to begin their World Junior Championship journey.
