1/23 Recap: Cat streak at half dozen

Dan Catenacci assisted on an empty-net goal to extend his point streak to six games as Owen Sound blanked Barrie 3-0. The helper gives Catenacci a line of 25-34-59 through 46 games heading into Friday's matchup at Guelph. Colts defenseman Alex Lepkowski was whistled for a checking to the head penalty in the loss. The Colts travel to Niagara on Thursday.

Brady Austin finished minus-one as Belleville downed Oshawa 4-1. The Bulls are at Peterborough on Thursday.

In the WHL, Andrey Makarov made 32 saves as Saskatoon was defeated by Edmonton 4-2. Makarov and the Blades got off to a rocky start, allowing three goals on 19 shots in the opening 20 minutes, before tightening up over the final two periods. The Blades are back at it Sunday versus Moose Jaw.



Colin Jacobs was minus-one as Prince George dropped a 3-2 decision to Prince Albert. The Cougars will host Everett for a pair of games beginning Friday.

In Europe, Linus Ullmark served as backup as MODO skated to a 3-2 SEL loss to Skelleftea. MODO takes on the Vaxjo Lakers on Friday.
