1/31 Recap: Ullmark sparkles

In Sweden, Linus Ullmark made 45 saves Thursday as MODO earned a hard-fought 2-1 overtime victory over Lulea. Ullmark, who has been shuttling between MODO's J20 squad and the top club, is now perfect this season in three SEL starts, amassing an impressive 1.12 GAA and .966 save% along the way. Ullmark will likely remain with the SEL squad for Saturday's meeting with Frolunda.

Sabres has signed a goalie with very good potential over here. I've been following Ullmark for a couple of years now and he really is something!

He is big, flexible, has fast reflexes and glove, moves quick, modern playstyle of course, has good positioning and spreads stability among the defense. An incredibly all-round goalie with lots of upsides.

I would not be surprised if he is ready for the NHL in a couple of years and becoming among the better goalies in the league.

Ullmark has been excellent. He had a great foundation to begin with, but his confidence seems to have really skyrocketed since becoming an NHL draft pick.

Since Modo now has sent Oscar Alsenfelt to SWE-2 team Leksand on loan, Ullmark will remain in the SEL squad until the season is over.
