2/18 Recap: Leggio blanks Dogs; Makarov wins 12th in a row

Andrey Makarov made 29 saves Monday to earn his 12th straight victory as Saskatoon downed Brandon 5-1. The Blades will get a chance to tie their franchise record for consecutive wins on Wednesday when they host Moose Jaw.

In the AHL, Brayden McNabb and Luke Adam scored while David Leggio stopped all 30 shots sent his way as Rochester blanked Hamilton 2-0. Zemgus Girgensons earned an assist in his second game from injury, giving him 10 points in 33 professional games.The Amerks are back in action Wednesday when they host Texas.

Elsewhere, Brady Austin (+1) did not point in Belleville's 3-0 win over Barrie. The victory vaults the Bulls past the Colts into the top spot in the OHL's Eastern Conference standings. Belleville takes a six-game winning streak into Wednesday's tilt with Ottawa. Alex Lepkowski recorded a minor penalty for the Colts, who next face Dan Catenacci and the Owen Sound Attack on Thursday.

Justin Kea finished with a minus-one rating as Saginaw doubled Windsor 4-2. Draft eligible Kerby Rychel scored his 33rd goal of the year for the Spitfires in defeat. The Spirirt visits Kitchener on Friday.

Colin Jacobs (-2) saw his two-game point streak snapped as Prince George was shut out by Edmonton 6-0. The Cougars welcome the CHL's top ranked team to town on Friday when they battle Portland.
