Brian Flynn scored a pair of goals Wednesday and added an assist as Rochester cruised to a 6-2 victory over Abbotsford. The game’s number one star, Flynn now has 17 goals this season, fourth best among AHL rookies.

David Leggio returned from a one-game absence, making 38 saves for his AHL-best 24th win. Kevin Porter contributed a goal and two assists, while Mark Mancari, Luke Adam, and Fredrick Roy also tallied for the Amerks, who are off until Tuesday’s meeting at Lake Erie.

In the WHL, Andrey Makarov continued his hot play stopping 30 of 31 shots as Saskatoon hammered Prince Albert 7-1. The win, Makarov’s sixth in a row, earned him the game’s number one star while upping his record to 23-16-0-3 with a 2.57 GAA and .919 save%. The Russian stalwart entered the game on the heels on being named the Vaughn CHL Goalie of the Week after going 3-0-0-0 with a shutout as the Blades continued to shoot up the WHL’s Eastern Conference standings.

Colin Jacobs finished with a minus-one rating as Prince George dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to Red Deer. The fourth-year forward has four goals and one assist in his last 10 games and total of 36 points (18+18) all season.
