Ullmark takes loss as Swedes stumble

Linus Ullmark stopped 31 of 36 shots Sunday as Team Sweden was blanked by Finland 5-0 to close the Czech Hockey Games. The loss, Sweden's worst defeat since a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of Finland in the final of the 2011 World Championship, lands the Tre Kronor in third place in the first of four events on the 2013 Euro Hockey Tour schedule.

On Saturday, Gustav Possler recorded three shots on goal as MODO captured the SCA Cup with a 4-0 win over Leksands. The 18-year old winger has two assists in four preseason appearances with two more tune-ups to go before MODO opens SHL regular season play on September 14.

Also from Saturday, Logan Nelson scored his second goal in as many nights as Victoria fired a total of 56 shots on goal but lost a 6-5 shootout decision to Seattle. Next up for Nelson is a flight to Buffalo before the Sabres head out to Traverse City, Michigan for the 2013 NHL Prospects Tournament.
