10/18 Recap: Amerks down Marlies; Petersen wins again

Dan Catenacci and Luke Adam scored in the opening frame Friday to thrust Rochester to a 4-1 triumph over Toronto. Catenacci's second goal of the year came just nine seconds into play to get the Amerks moving in the right direction, only to be followed up by Adams' fourth goal in as many games nine minutes later. Phil Varone and Matt Ellis each scored their first of the year in the third period, while Nathan Lieuwen stopped 36 shots to earn his first of the year and the game's number two star. Next up for the Amerks is a Saturday night match up with Utica.

In the USHL, Cal Petersen stopped 29 shots to guide Waterloo to a 4-3 win over Green Bay. The victory gives the Notre Dame commit wins in five of his six starts this season. Petersen and the Black Hawks are off until Friday when they take on Sioux Falls.

In the OHL, Nicholas Baptiste recorded a pair of assists in Sudbury's 3-2 loss to Plymouth. Baptiste has produced a point in eight of 10 games for a total of 15 (9+6), tying him for 15th overall in league scoring. The Wolves will look to bounce back Saturday when they host Mississauga.
