10/19 Recap: Baptiste pots pair; Ullmark sharp

Nick Baptiste used his speed to capture a pair of goals Saturday as Sudbury got past Mississauga 6-5 in overtime. The double helping gives the Ottawa native 11 goals and through his first 11 games of the year. The Wolves are off until Friday when they kick off a three-game weekend versus Kingston.



Elsewhere, Brady Austin scored his first goal with London and second of the year as the Knights came up short in a 4-3 loss to Windsor. The Knights host Kitchener on Thursday.



Eric Locke was held without a point, and Justin Kea finished with a minus-three rating as Saginaw lost to Sarnia 5-3. Next up for the Spirit is a Saturday date with Barrie.

In the WHL, Logan Nelson earned an assist on the game's first goal as Victoria defeated Spokane 4-1. The Royals are off until Friday's matchup with Kelowna.

In Sweden, Linus Ullmark made 37 saves as MODO edged Vaxjo 3-2. The win improves Ullmark's record to 3-4 with a 2.11 GAA and league-best .935 save%. Gustav Possler returned from his one-game absence, recording two shots on goal while skating on MODO's top offensive unit. MODO is off until Thursday when they visit AIK.

In NCAA action, Jake McCabe scored a power play goal and added an assist as #2 Wisconsin was hammered in Beantown for the second-straight night in a 7-3 loss to Boston University. Brad Navin (+1) recorded two shots on goal for the Badgers, who get a week off before beginning November with a non-conference set against Lake Superior State.



Anthony Florentino scored his second goal in as many games and notched an assist while finishing with a plus-six rating as #10 Providence throttled American International 10-4. Blue line partner Mark Adams (+3) scored his first ever collegiate goal in the victory. The Friars host Miami on Friday.



J.T. Compher (+1, 1 SOG) assisted on the overtime game winner as #5 Michigan defeated #13 New Hampshire 3-2. The Wolverines welcome Boston University to town on Friday.



Christian Isackson centered the fourth line as #3 Minnesota downed Bemidji State 5-1. The Gophers will look to keep their momentum on Friday when they host Boston College.

In the USHL, Judd Petersen scored the game winning goal as Cedar Rapids skated to a 7-4 victory over Green Bay. The marker was Peterson's first since opening the season with a two-goal game back on September 27. The Roughriders next host Youngstown on Friday.

Connor Hurley recorded three shots on goal as Muskegon earned a 3-2 shootout victory over Sioux Falls. Hurley began the year with a four-game point streak, but has secured just one point (a goal) in his last five games. The Lumberjacks complete the three-game weekend Sunday when they visit Team USA.

In the AHL, Luke Adam scored his fifth goal in as many games, and Jerome Gauthier-Leduc added a goal and two assists as Rochester downed Utica 6-4. Mike Zigomanis earned the game's number one star with a four-point night (2+2), while Matt Hackett and Nathan Lieuwen combined to make 39 saves to earn the Amerks their third victory of the year. The Amerks visit Hamilton on Friday.
