10/26 Recap: Kea keys Spirit; Amerks roll Marlies

Justin Kea (+2) scored trailed the play to score his third goal of the year and added an assist Saturday to earn the game's number three star as Saginaw skated to a 4-1 victory over Barrie. Eric Locke (+2) added an assist for the Spirit, who next take the ice Wednesday when they face in-state rival Plymouth.

Nick Baptiste buried his 12th goal of the year and added another in the shootout but Sudbury was dealt a 4-3 loss to Belleville. The Wolves continue the schedule Sunday at Mississauga.

Out west, Logan Nelson recorded an assist but Victoria lost to Kelowna 2-1 in a shootout to get swept in the weekend set. The Royals are off until next Friday's meeting with Red Deer.

In USHL action, Connor Hurley (+1) pumped three shots on goal as Muskegon edged Lincoln 4-3. The Lumberjacks get back at it Sunday versus Omaha.

Cal Petersen was given the night off in Waterloo's 5-2 loss to Sioux City. Petersen will return to the nets Wednesday when the Black Hawks visit Tri-City.

In NCAA play, Anthony Florentino and Mark Adams formed the bottom defensive pair for #8 Providence as the Friars played to a 4-4 tie with #3 Miami. Providence begins the Hockey East schedule next weekend with a home-and-home set with Boston University.

J.T. Compher recorded two shots on goal as Michigan was was handed their first lost of the season 2-1 at Lowell. The Wolverines host Michigan Tech for a pair of games next weekend.

In Sweden, Gustav Possler assisted on the overtime game winner as MODO earned a 3-2 victory over Lulea. Linus Ullmark was given the night off. MODO looks to continue their winning ways Wednesday at Frolunda.



In the AHL, Luke Adam scored his seventh goal in as many games to lead Rochester to a 4-1 victory over Toronto. Mike Zigomanis, Alexander Sulzer, and Phil Varone also scored for the Amerks, while Matt Hackett made 28 saves for his second win of the season. Next up for Rochester is a Friday night visit to Syracuse.
