10/27-30 Recap: Kea connects; Peterson rolling

Justin Kea scored a goal and an assist for the second straight game Wednesday as Saginaw handled rival Plymouth 6-2. Kea's output puts him second in team scoring with 14 points (4+10) through 15 games. Eric Locke added an assist for the Spirit, who next host Owen Sound on Friday.



In the SHL, Gustav Possler (2 SOG) was unable to connect as MODO earned a 2-1 win at Frolunda. Linus Ullmark served as backup in the win, but should return to work Friday when MODO visits Linkopings.

In Sunday play, Brady Austin scored his third goal of the year on the power play with four seconds left in regulation as London came up shot in a 7-4 loss at Guelph. The Knights host red-hot Nick Baptiste and the Sudbury Wolves on Friday.



In the USHL, Judd Peterson scored twice and added another in the shootout as Cedar Rapids was handed   a 5-4 loss at Chicago. The goals give Peterson six goals through seven games, and a three-game scoring streak heading into Friday's tilt at Indiana.

Connor Hurley produced an assist as Muskegon got past Omaha 6-5. Hurley will leave his club to begin play for Team USA at the World Jr. A Championship beginning November 2 in Yarmouth, N.S.
