11/10 Recap: OHL trio connects, USA wins gold

Justin Kea posted two goals, an assist, and a fighting to major Sunday to get the Gordie Howe hat trick, and Eric Locke contributed a goal and three assists as Saginaw smoked Kingston 9-4. Winners of three straight and seven out of their last 10 contests, the Spirit will look to stay hot Friday at Sarnia.


Justin Bailey scored his sixth goal of the year in regulation and added the clincher in the shootout as Kitchener ended their eight-game skid with a 4-3 victory at Ottawa. Bailey has now scored goals in three of his last four games. The Rangers will look to make it two in a row Thursday when they visit Sarnia.



Defenseman Brady Austin played even as London downed Windsor 3-1. The Knights get back to work Thursday at Ottawa.

Connor Hurley assisted on the game winning goal and Cal Petersen stopped 16 of 17 shots as the U.S. Junior Selects downed Russia 4-1 to capture the gold medal at the 2013 World Junior A Challenge. Hurley finished as the tourney's second-leading point-getter with three goals and seven assists in four games played. Petersen finished the week with a 3-0 record, 2.67 GAA, .873 save%.
