11/15 Recap: Compher cashes; Armia gets first points

In Friday action, Luke Adam scored his 12th and 13th goals of the year, and Nathan Lieuwen stopped 33 shots as Rochester skated to a 4-2 win over Utica. Matt Ellis and Mike Zigomanis added singles for the Amerks, while Joel Armia secured his first professional points with a pair of assists. The Amerks visit Binghamton on Saturday.



In the WHL, Logan Nelson buried a shot from the side of the net in overtime as Victoria got past Seattle 2-1. The tally gives Nelson 10 goals on the year, including five game winners. The two clubs go back at it on Saturday.



In the Ontario league, Eric Locke connected for his eighth goal of the year as Saginaw defeated Sarnia 5-3. Justin Kea was held off the score sheet while getting whistled for a kneeing minor penalty in the victory. The Spirit host Mississauga on Saturday.



Justin Bailey logged a plus-one rating as Kitchener earned a 2-1 win over Owen Sound. The Rangers welcome Sault Ste. Marie to town on Sunday afternoon.

Nick Baptiste (-3) did not factor into the scoring as Sudbury lost to North Bay 3-1. The Wolves next take on Niagara in a Sunday matinee.

Brady Austin was even as London skated to a 4-2 triumph at Kingston. The Knights are at Belleville on Saturday.

In NCAA action, J.T. Compher notched his first collegiate goal and added an assist as #2 Michigan was upset at Nebraska-Omaha 3-2. The Wolverines will look to exact some revenge Saturday in Omaha.



Jake McCabe (-1) and Brad Navin (3 SOG) couldn't connect as #12 Wisconsin suffered a 2-0 blanking at #8 Miami. The Badgers will look to get the weekend split when the two clubs cap the non-conference set on Saturday.

Anthony Florentino pumped four shots on goal as #5 Providence held on for a 3-2 win at Vermont. Mark Adams was a scrstch for the Friars, who look for the road sweep on Saturday.

Sean Malone (-1) picked up an assist and five shots on goal as Harvard was downed by #6 Quinnipiac 3-2. The Crimson take on Princeton Saturday night in New Jersey.

Christian Isackson was scratched as #1 Minnesota earned a 4-1 win over Minnesota State. The Gophers look to sweep the in-state opposition Saturday on home ice.

In USHL play, Connor Hurley (-2) recorded an assist as Muskegon was handed a 5-3 loss at Youngstown. The clubs will play a rematch on Saturday.

Judd Peterson was shut down as Cedar Rapids won in the shootout over Fargo 3-2. The RoughRiders will get back at it Saturday versus perennial power Dubuque.

Cal Petersen made 28 saves as Waterloo earned a 4-3 shootout victory over Sioux Falls. Petersen has now won seven of his eight starts this season. The Black Hawks will look to keep it going Saturday against Omaha.

In the ECHL, Andrey Makarov stopped 27 of 31 shots as Fort Wayne edged Toledo 5-4. The win gives the Russian backstop four wins in his first six professional starts. The Komets host Connor Knapp and the Greenville Road Warriors on Saturday.
