11/5 Recap: Hurley shines for U.S. Selects

Connor Hurley notched a goal and three assists Tuesday as the U.S. Junior Selects opened the World Junior A Challenge with an 8-3 victory over Russia. The Notre Dame commit, who has accumulated 10 points (3+7) in 12 games this season with the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks, sparkled with his vision and puck handling to produce all three of his helpers with the mad advantage. Waterloo Black Hawks’ goaltender Cal Petersen stopped 25 of 27 shots for USA to earn the win.

USA moves on to face a talented Canada East squad on Wednesday.
