12/29 Recap: Locke lights lamp

Eric Locke scored his ninth goal of the year Sunday as Saginaw dropped a 6-5 decision to Windsor at the Hockeytown Winter Festival at Comerica Park. The goal comes in Locke's second game back after missing the previous 14 tilts with a shoulder injury. Justin Kea picked up an assist for the Spirit, who next face Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday.

In the night game at Comerica Park, Brady Austin finished with a minus-one rating as London dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to Plymouth. Next up for the Knights is a Tuesday game with Sarnia.

Nick Baptiste notched an assist on the lone Wolves goal as Sudbury saw their nine-game winning streak snapped in a 3-1 loss to Sault Ste. Marie. Baptiste has 45 points (20+25) through 35 games this season. The Wolves face North Bay on Tuesday.

Sean Malone snatched a power play goal and an assist as Harvard earned a 9-3 exhibition win over the Russian Red Stars. The Crimson are off until Saturday when they host Boston University.

Anthony Florentino produced three shots on goal as No. 5 Providence edged host Dartmouth 3-2 at the Ledyard Bank Classic. The Friars will play Air Force Monday evening in the championship game.

In ECHL play, Connor Knapp made 38 saves as Greenville doubled Elmira 6-3.The victory gives Knapp six wins on the year with a 2.30 GAA and .933 save%. Greenville is off until Friday when they host Florida.

Andrey Makarov was given the night off, and Shawn Szydlowski (-1) was unable to crack the score sheet as Fort Wayne skated to a 3-2 victory over Gwinnett. The Komets host Toledo on Tuesday.
