1/24 Recap: Career night for Compher

J.T. Compher (+4) had his biggest night as a collegian Friday, posting two goals, including one short-handed, and two assists to lead No. 14 Michigan to a 5-2 win over Michigan State. The freshman's sixth multiple point game of the year thrusts him into the team lead in scoring with 20 points (9+11) through 20 games. Compher and the Wolverines host Wisconsin next weekend.



Jake McCabe scored his sixth goal of the year and added a helper as Wisconsin defeated Ohio State 5-3. The multi-point effort was McCabe's fifth of the season and 11th of his three-year NCAA career. Brad Navin manned a second line wing spot, recording two shots on goal and an even rating. The teams close the B1G set on Saturday.

Sean Malone picked up an assist as Harvard lost at Union 4-3. Malone's 12 points (4+8) place third in team scoring heading into next Friday's game versus Princeton.

Christian Isackson played a fourth-line role as Minnesota defeated St. Cloud State 4-1. The Gophers battle Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday in the first place game of the North Star College Cup.

Defenders Anthony Florentino and Mark Adams remained out of action with injuries as Providence came from behind to earn a 5-4 win over Lowell.

In the OHL, Nikita Zadorov contributed a goal, an assist, and a plus-four rating to earn the game's number one star as London throttled Sarnia 8-1. Brady Austin recorded a pair of helpers for the Knights, who host Kitchener on Saturday.



Justin Bailey recorded a power play assist as Kitchener handled Plymouth 5-1. The helper gives Bailey 34 points (18+16) this season, including nine in his last 10 games.



Eric Locke and Justin Kea were kept off the score sheet as Saginaw defeated Sudbury 3-2 in a shootout. Wolves winger Nick Baptiste was also blanked for the losing side. Both clubs return to action Sunday with Saginaw visiting Guelph and Sudbury hosting Barrie.

In the WHL, Logan Nelson produced one assist as Victoria rolled Kamloops 7-2. The Royals get back at it Saturday for the first of three consecutive tilts with Vancouver.

In the USHL, Cal Petersen made 19 saves to get his 10th-straight victory as Waterloo downed Fargo 3-1. Petersen improves to 21-2-1, with a 2.40 GAA and .917 save%. The two clubs will go at it again on Saturday.

Connor Hurley notched an assist as Green Bay blanked Chicago 6-0. Hurley has nine points (4+5) in nine games since being dealt to the Gamblers, who square off with Team USA on Saturday.

Judd Peterson couldn't get much brewing as Cedar Rapids was smoked by Dubuque 6-1. The RoughRiders battle Indiana on Saturday.

In the ECHL, Andrey Makarov dressed for the first time in over two weeks, serving in a reserve role as Fort Wayne posted a 4-3 come-from-behind win at Elmira. Shawn Szydlowski recorded a team-high five shots on goal for the Komets.
