1/29 Recap: Amerks win again; Locke, Peterson score

Brayden McNabb scored a power play goal Wednesday, and Nathan Lieuwen stopped 19 of 20 shots as Rochester extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over Chicago. Kevin Porter and Alex Hutchings scored the first two Amerks markers, while Colton Gillies added one into the empty net. Johan Larsson recorded a pair of assists, and despite not earning a game star, was one of the best players on the ice all game.

In the OHL, Eric Locke connected on a penalty shot for his 16th goal of the year as Saginaw was defeated by Sault Ste. Marie 6-3. Spirit power forward Justin Kea missed his second-straight game.

In the USHL, Judd Peterson scored his 15th goal of the year as Cedar Rapids blanked Des Moines 1-0. The St. Cloud State commit has scored in three of his last four contests to give him 26 points through 35 games.

In the coast league, Connor Knapp came on in relief, stopping 15 of 18 shots over the final two periods as Florida came up short in a 5-4 loss to Greenville. The big backstop has yet to get a win in three appearances since landing the new assignment in Florida.

In Sweden, Linus Ullmark got a rest after making five straight starts as MODO edged Leksands 1-0. Ullmark remains among the league's best with a 1.96 GAA (t-3rd) and .936 save% (1st).
