1/8 Recap: Ullmark stays sharp; Bailey stays productive

Linus Ullmark made 35 saves Wednesday as MODO defeated HV 71 3-2. Ullmark has won 10 of 20 starts this season, compiling a 1.99 GAA (3rd in league), .934 sv% (2nd).

In the OHL, Justin Bailey notched a pair of assists as Kitchener downed Belleville 6-2. The double-helping gives Bailey multiple points in four of his last six games. Draft eligible forward Nick Magyar also posted two assists, and is now tied with Bailey for the Rangers’ scoring lead with 31 points.

In the AHL, Phil Varone scored his seventh goal of the year as Rochester was defeated by Binghamton 3-1. Luke Adam and Matt MacKenzie drew assists on the Varone tally, while Matt Hackett made 31 saves in defeat.
