2/14 Recap: Zadorov produces; Amerks win big

Nikita Zadorov scored twice Friday and added an assist to earn the game's number one star as London downed Sarnia 9-5. The big defender, whose first three-point effort of the season gives him nine goals and 21 points through 24 games, rounded out his effort with a fighting major at the final buzzer. Brady Austin picked up an assist for the Knights to extend his point streak to five games.


Justin Bailey recorded an assist as Kitchener blanked Mississauga 5-0. Bailey has points in six of his last seven games for a total of 43 (25+18) on the year.


Nick Baptiste notched a secondary helper on the game's opening goal as Sudbury was defeated by Windsor 6-3. The assist puts Baptiste at 67 points (32+35) through 52 games.

Eric Locke was unable to get anything going as Saginaw skated to a 3-2 shootout victory over Plymouth. Justin Kea missed his eighth game for the Spirit with a hand injury.

In the QMJHL, Mikhail Grigorenko scored his sixth goal of the year on the power play as Quebec was derailed by Baie-Comeau 5-3. Grigorenko, who finished the game with a minus-three rating, has 13 points (6+7) in 11 games since being re-assigned to the Remparts.

In NCAA action, J.T. Compher scored his 11th goal of the year and added an assist as Michigan couldn't complete the comeback in a 5-3 loss to Minnesota. Compher, who has eight multi-point outings this season, leads the Wolverines with 26 points in 25 games. Christian Isackson was a healthy scratch for the Gophers.



Sean Malone picked up an assist as Harvard edged Clarkson 1-0 in overtime.Malone has points in three straight games for a total of 16 (5+11) on the year.

Jake McCabe (-2)and Brad Navin (-1) were each unable to get on the score sheet as Wisconsin was defeated by Ohio State 2-1. McCabe leads all Badger defenders with 19 points (7+12), but has just one in his last six games.

Anthony Florentino (-1) registered one shot on goal as Providence played to a 2-2 tie with Notre Dame. The freshman defender has eight points (3+5) this season, with just one coming in his last 13 appearances.

In the USHL, Cal Petersen got the night off as Waterloo came up short in a 3-2 loss to Cedar Rapids. Judd Peterson, the RoughRiders' second-leading scorer, did not play in the win.

In the AHL, Rasmus Ristolainen scored twice while Brayden McNabb (1+2) and Johan Larsson (0+3) each posted three-points nights as Rochester pounded Utica 7-3. Nathan Lieuwen made 31 saves for the Amerks to get his 11th win of the year.



In the ECHL, Andrey Makarov made 31 saves as Fort Wayne was upended by Cincinnati 3-2. Shawn Szydlowski contributed one shot on net for the Komets in defeat.

Jontahn Parker was plus-one as Colorado was defeated by Utah 4-3. The tilt was Parker's first coast league game since late December after spending a month-plus with the Amerks.

Connor Knapp served as backup in Florida's 6-2 loss to Greenville.
