2/23 Recap: Locke strikes twice

Eric Locke scored twice Sunday, including one short-handed and another for his first game winning goal of the year, as Saginaw got past Guelph 6-3. Locke has 21 goals and 50 points through 40 games, while his seven short-handed points are tied for most in the league. Justin Kea recorded an assist for the Spirit, giving him points in all three games since his return from a hand injury.



Nick Baptiste scored a goal and an assist as Sudbury was defeated by Barrie 4-3. Baptiste's 25th multi-point effort of the year elevates his season take to 38 goals (t-6th in OHL) and 75 points (16th). He has 18 goals in 20 games since Jan. 1.


In the QMJHL, Mikhail Grigorenko posted an assist as Quebec skated to a 3-2 shootout win over Drummondville. The 19-year old has points in 12 of 15 games since his return to the Remparts, registering 11 goals and 11 assists.

In the ECHL, Jonathan Parker scored for the third-straight game as Colorado Stockton. The tally gives Parker 11 goals and 24 points in 26 games with the Eagles.

Jerome Gauthier-Leduc notched his first ECHL point, an assist, as Gwinnett lost to South Carolina 5-2. Along with his point, Gauthier-Leduc has produced four shots on goal and a minus-one rating in his three coast league games.
