10/1 Recap: Karabacek pair powers Piques

Vaclav Karabacek scored his first two goals of the season Wednesday to power Gatineau to a 5-3 victory over Blainville-Boisbriand. Karabacek rounded out his effort with five shots on goal en route to being named the game’s number one star. Gatineau is currently atop the QMJHL standings with 12 points. The Olympiques return to work Friday versus Chicoutimi.

In the WHL, Brycen Martin (-1) earned the game’s number three star as  Swift Current lost at Kamloops 3-1. The Broncos continue their road trip Friday in Vancouver.

Gustav Possler (4 SOG, 16:37 TOI) and Victor Olofsson (5:33) were kept off the score sheet as MODO was defeated by Brynas 4-3. Goaltender Linus Ullmark was given the day off. MODO next hosts Vaxjo on Saturday.
