10/30 Recap: Cornel contributes; duo keys MODO

In the OHL, Eric Cornel (+3) notched a season-high three assists Thursday as Peterborough rode a hat trick from undrafted Greg Betzold to a 4-1 victory over Mississauga. The second-star effort, which was perhaps Cornel's best all-around performance of the young season, elevates the crafty forward to a point-per-game pace with 12 (4+8) in as many games. The Petes next tangle with Barrie on Sunday.

In SHL action, Linus Ullmark made 31 saves and Victor Olofsson scored the game-winning goal in the shootout as MODO got past Orebro HK 4-3. Ullmark now has wins in three of his last four starts to improve to 4-5 with a 3.99 GAA and .873 save%. Olofsson picked up his sixth goal while logging over 10 minutes of work for the eighth time in the last 10 games.

Gustav Possler played just 4:48 in the victory after leaving the game with an apparent shoulder injury from a first-period hit. Despite the early departure, Possler could still play in Saturday's meeting with HV 71 per MODO's medical staff.

Elsewhere, Jonas Johansson served as backup to Bernhard Starkbaum in Brynas' 7-4 loss to Djurgardens. The 19-year old goalkeeper will look for his first SHL start of the season Saturday when Brynas takes on Vaxjo.
