10/5 Recap: Karabacek first star; Bailey keeps pace

In Sunday action, Vaclav Karabacek notched his third goal of the season plus an assist to earn the game's first star as Gatineau skated to a 5-4 victory over Baie-Comeau. Karabacek now has three multiple point efforts through his first six games. The Olympiques are off until Wednesday's tilt with Moncton.

In the OHL, Justin Bailey kept the points coming with an assist off a nice give-and-go with Arizona prospect Ryan MacInnis in Kitchener's 4-3 loss at Oshawa. The helper gives Bailey points in all three contests (3+3) since returning from Buffalo. He'll look to make it four in a row Friday when the Rangers begin a home-and-home set with Erie.

In college action, Cal Petersen came on midway through the second period, allowing four goals on 13 shots as Notre Dame opened the year with a 5-4 exhibition loss to Waterloo. Fellow freshman Connor Hurley did not dress for the Irish due to injury (day to day).
