10/8 Recap: Mid-week quiet

The middle of the week proved quiet with just two prospects in action and each unable to crack the score sheet. Perhaps it's just the calm before the storm with a full slate of weekend games on tap.

Vaclav Karabacek recorded a team-high five shots on goal Wednesday as Gatineau dropped a 2-1 shootout decision to Moncton. Draft eligible Yakov Trenin notched an assist for Gatineau in the loss, giving him 13 points (3+10) through the first 11 games of the season. The Olympiques visit Baie-Comeau on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Brycen Martin finished with a minus-one rating as Swift Current capped off an early season road trip with a 4-0 shutout loss at Kelowna. Martin has three assists in eight appearances for the Broncos, who return home for a Friday meeting with Kootenay.
