Sudbury Wolves sniper Nick Baptiste and feisty winger
Brendan Lemieux of the Barrie Colts have been selected to represent Team OHL in the 2014 SUBWAY Super
Series. Team OHL will compete against the Russian National Junior Team
for a pair of contests as part of the six-game series.
Returning to Team OHL after an appearance in the 2013
series, Baptiste will play in the Nov. 13 game in Peterborough. Lemieux will
skate in Kingston on Nov. 17.
Baptiste has yet to play a regular season game after
sustaining an upper body injury during preseason. A 45-goal scorer a season
ago, Baptiste produced three points (1+2) in August at Canada’s National Junior
Team summer Development Camp. The 2013 third-rounder is expected to return to
Sudbury’s lineup in the next week, and could be a major trade target for
contending teams prior to January’s OHL trade deadline.
Chosen 31st overall in the 2014 NHL draft,
Lemieux earns a nod after a nice start to his season while skating on Barrie’s
top forward line. The 18-year old has collected six goals, 11 points and 23 PIM
through his first nine games. He was not invited to Canada’s summer camp.
