11/6 Recap: Cornel, Olofsson blanked

In Thursday action, Eric Cornel saw his two-game point streak snapped as Peterborough came through for a goal with six seconds remaining in regulation to earn a 2-1 victory over North Bay. Cornel, who had connected for four assists in his previous two outings, played with an extra gear in the third period but was unable to convert on his chances. He'll enter Friday's matchup against Kitchener with 13 points (4+9) in his first 14 games.

In Europe, Victor Olofsson was unable to crack the score sheet as Sweden opened the U20 Four Nations Cup with a 5-3 victory over the Czech Republic. The tournament offers an international tuneup for Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czech Republic prior to this winter's World Junior Championship. Olofsson and the Swedes square off with Scandanavian rival Finland on Friday.

On Wednesday, Justin Kea finished with three shots on goal and a minus-one rating as Elmira edged Evansville 3-2. The Jackals visit Kalamazoo on Friday.
