Duo blanked as Russians roll

Nick Baptiste (-2) and Brendan Lemieux were unable to get going Thursday as Team OHL was blanked by Team Russia 4-0 in game 3 of the 2014 Subway Super Series in Peterborough. With the victory, the Russians are 3-0 for the first time in series history.

Baptiste played on a line with Michael Dal Colle (NYI) and Nick Paul (OTT). Lemieux, who originally was scheduled to play Monday night in Kingston, played on a checking line with Hunter Garlent (undrafted) and 2015 prospect Travis Konecny.

Things got chippy with the Russians holding a late lead. The frustration for Team OHL came to a head when 6-foot-6 defenseman Ben Harpur (OTT) caught Konstantin Okulov with a head shot at the Canadian blueline as the Russian forward came across the middle. Harpur received a five-minute major and a game misconduct.

The OHL will look for a better effort on Monday evening before the series heads east to Quebec for the final two games.
