Schaller scores as Amerks blown out

Tim Schaller snapped a five-game goal drought with his fourth of the season Tuesday as the Rochester Americans were blown out by Hamilton 6-1 in a School Day Game at Copps Coliseum. Mikhail Grigorenko and Joel Armia assisted on Schaller's power play marker. Armia's helper gives him nine points on the year and a piece of the team scoring lead, while Grigorenko has eight points (4+4) at the 10-game mark.

Andrey Makarov received the start in net, stopping 12 of 17 shots before pulled in the second period. Nathan Lieuwen stopped five of six shots in relief. The Amerks are back in action Friday versus Binghamton.

In the WHL, Brycen Martin assisted on the lone Swift Current goal in the Broncos' 2-1 loss to Medicine Hat. Martin has seven assists through 19 games for the Broncos, who take on Lethbridge on Friday.
